We provide keys for all types of vehicles: cars, motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, boats and planes.
Use this page to determine what type of key you need. Virtually every car built in 1996 or later uses a transponder key (glossary). This also applies to some more expensive models motorcycles. If you have a transponder key, then go to the product page Transponder keys.
Traditional keys
Keys with cuts on the side of the blade (single or double sided). The blade has straight grooves. The key has no transponder chip. Most traditional keys have a metal head and some have a plastic head. To productpage »

Modern keys
If your key looks like one of the keys displayed below and your key does not contain a transponder chip, then you have a modern key. These are laser keys, dimple keys, Tibbe en Chubb keys, one type of Porsche key, Tubular keys and GM VATS keys. To productpage »

Transponder keys
Virtually all cars built in 1996 and on use a transponder key. This also applies to some more expensive models motorcycles. A transponder key has a plastic head.
It is not possible to see on the outside if the head contains a transponder chip. If your brand and model is included in the lists on our product page, then you have a transponder key. To determine whether you have a transponder key, you could also wrap the key head in aluminum foil. If the vehicle will not start you have a transponder key. You can also consult the manual.
